In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Child Centre - Gaza (CCG) of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF) has continued to deliver a training course on Ardiuno for teachers. The training event was designed to enhance teachers’ IT skills.
Participants were introduced to the types and features of the Arduino board and code writing on the Arduino Software (IDE).
On his participation in the training course, IT teacher Ahmed Abu Ubadah said: “At the university, we did not study these up-to-date subjects. For us, this is a good starting point to use electronic gadgets as part of the curriculum with students at school.”
Ayman al-Aklouk, Supervisor of the IT course at the Ministry of Education, stated: “Teachers are in dire need of IT capacity building and to keep pace with developments in teaching methods. This goal has been achieved by the training programme at the CCG.”
Targeting children, the CCG organised Arduino training workshops in January 2017. In these, children learned about the basics of programming electronic controllers and how to connect them to some monitors and boards, including LCDs, keypads, and motor control panels. The training workshops were tailored to enable children to produce modern IT projects and applications.
Arduino is an electronic development board. Using open sources, it is user friendly and easy to learn.
